Pooja/Puja for Neelam (Blue Sapphire)

Hello Everyone,

Since I have started writing this blog on a Saturday, so I thought lets start off with Saturday itself.
From now on I will for each weekday till next Friday post the Pooja/Puja for a stone for that particular day.

Blue Sapphire is the stone to appease Lord Saturn.

Here are the details on how to perform the Pooja or Neelam or Blue Sapphire.

Pooja Time

Saturday between 6-7am or 1-2 pm in the afternoon

Pooja Articles

(1) Iron or Steel Plate
(2) Steel Lamp
(3) Black til Sandal, Kumkum
(4) Blue flowers
(5) Eight black cloth

Method

Keep the iron or steel plate. Light the steel lamp. Spread til over the plate. Wash the ring, apply sandal and kumkum to it and place it on the plate. Recite Shani Mantra for 108 times with blue flowers. offer Prasad of til rice (cooked rice mixed with til). Offer this til rice, black cloth (if it is winter donate black shawl) to eight beggars or poor along with rs.10/- to each one.

Remarks
After pooja is over take the ring to Ayyappa Temple. Perform the pooja there and put it on.
